The Advance Child Tax Credit payments will be on their way soon! On July 15th, the IRS will start depositing the first of six monthly payments into eligible parent’s bank accounts. Single taxpayers with an income of $75,000 or less, and married filing jointly taxpayers with income below $150,000, will receive up to $1,800, per child. If you file as Head of Household, the income limit is $112,500.
How Much Can I Expect to Receive?
For the Advance Child Tax Credit, you will receive six monthly payments for each child under age 18 during 2021. You’ll receive $300 per month for each child age 5 and under. For children between age 6 and 17, you will receive $250 per month.
How Can I Make Sure to Get These Funds?
If you filed a 2020 or 2019 tax return and claimed dependent children who will still be younger than 18 years old on December 31, 2021, you will automatically receive these payments. If you weren’t required to file tax returns in 2019 or 2020, but still have children ages 17 and under, you’ll need to register with the IRS to receive the payment.
